The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Angel Pendant Necklace
"Tessa could not remember a time when she had not owned the clockwork angel. It had belonged to her mother once, and her mother had been wearing it when she'd died. After that it had sat in her mother's jewelry box until her brother Nathaniel took it out one day to see if it was still in working order. The angel was no bigger than Tessa's pinky finger, a tiny statuette made of brass, with folded bronze wings no larger than a cricket's, a delicate metal face with shut crescent eyelids, and hands crossed over a sword in front. A thin chain that looped beneath the wings allowed it to be worn around the neck like a locket..."
- Clockwork Angel
Set to be the next biggest teenage hit series after Harry Potter and Twilight, welcome to the world of the Shadowhunters by Cassandra Clare! The Infernal Devices trilogy features 16-year-old Tessa Gray, and her discovery of her unique powers and the Shadowhunter world. She wears a Clockwork Angel necklace with her at all times, and it protects her from death.
This beautiful Clockwork Angel pendant is modeled after the image featured on the cover of Book 1, Clockwork Angel. It is crafted out of bronze alloy, measures 6 centimeters across (wing to wing) and 5 centimeters long (wing to feet). The pendant has a nice, heavy feel to it. It comes together with a 24" bronze chain.
A minimum of 50 orders is required in order to make this piece.
Pre-orders are open from today, 7 May until the end of May.

The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Medallion Necklace in Gold and Bronze
Here is another addition to the Hunger Games jewellery collection!
Available in bronze and gold colours, this Mockingjay medallion necklace is a must-have for any Hunger Games fan out there!
The mockingjay pin is the circular gold token Katniss wears during the Games to represent District 12. Each tribute is allowed one item to remind them of their friends and family in their home district; the small pin bearing the image of a bird in flight is Katniss's.
The Mockingjay medallion pendant is hung onto a heavy chain. The mockingjay is a symbol of rebellion and hope among the districts. Big, bold and beautiful, this necklace symbolizes your support and alliance with Katniss and the districts fighting to overthrow the Capitol's rule.
"It's as if someone fashioned a small golden bird and then attached a ring around it. The bird is connected to the ring only by its wing tips. I suddenly recognize it. A mockingjay."
―Katniss Everdeen
The necklace measures approximately 30mm in diameter and the chain hangs approximately 18 inches long.

The Ghost Hunter's Talisman :: Increase Psychic Energy, Stimulates Third Eye and Protect Against Harmful Spirits
I've been working on another project for awhile and it is finally ready to be released!
There has always been curiosity about the paranormal, but there seems to be a surge recently, especially with ghost hunting shows such as Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, and more horror-related television shows and movies. Just last year, I went to explore the old, abandoned Tyersall house near Botanic Gardens... with a creepy experience too! But I will leave that story for another time.
For now, I present... the Ghost Hunter's Talisman!
This Ghost Hunter’s Talisman is for those who enjoy going on paranormal ghost-hunting journeys! This spelled talisman is made of a Rainbow Aura Quartz crystal, encased in a spent brass bullet shell casing.
The Rainbow Aura Quartz is an intensely visual stone. It stimulates the third eye, promoting clairvoyance and all forms of “seeing”. The spent bullet shell casing adds defensive energy to the amulet, deflecting negative energy in your surroundings. The Rainbow Aura Quartz crystal has also been programmed to give you protection and shielding from all malicious and negative entities.
This amulet is the perfect addition to any ghost hunter’s kit to stimulate your third eye, increase psychic energy and protect against harmful spirits! Whether you are a seasoned or amateur ghost hunter, this talisman will definitely come in handy for you!

More Charm Bracelet Crafting!
I've been crafting more suede leather charm bracelets lately, after the success of the first one. They are really fun to make and versatile to wear! The best part is selecting charms and gemstones that go well together and deciding the charm bracelet pattern =D
Here's an update on another one I just completed! This charm bracelet is Christmas-themed, with silver-plated charms of a candy cane, snowflake, angel, a heart and an ornate cross used. For gemstones, I used Rose Quartz (stone of love and giving), Snow Quartz, and Fancy Jasper. I also included an Opalite magatama, a curved, comma-shaped bead from prehistoric Japan that is believed to bring good luck.
This one will be posted up for sale soon, so keep a lookout for it if you are interested! Alternatively, if you want to create a customized charm bracelet, I would love to help you create a beautiful bracelet you'd be proud to wear anywhere!

Secondhand Bazaar Sale Success!
The bazaar sale last Saturday to sell off my secondhand clothes and books went really well! As I posted earlier, I did a major spring-cleaning of my room early this month and found a ton of clothes that I no longer wanted. I also found a whole container of books from my primary school days! So, I decided to sell them off at a bazaar sale at *SCAPE, Level 4.
My mom gave me a bunch of her secondhand clothes too the night before the bazaar sale. I didn't have time to go through her items, so I just put them all into a big bag and left. I got a surprise when I unpacked the clothes during the booth set-up!
I texted her to report my "finding" and she said to give it away to any kid who likes it. *shrugs*
Unfortunately my clothes took up all the space on the table, so I had to place the jewellery display on a chair.
Overall, I did really well! I managed to clear about one-third of my books and clothes, covering rental and earning a fair bit. The customers were mainly maids and aunties looking for good deals on clothes and accessories. Towards the closing hours of the bazaar, people were lowering their prices in order to sell off more goods. There was this group of ladies selling their secondhand clothes who were shouting "4 items for $2! 4 for $2!!!" I couldn't bear to part with my clothes for such a low amount so I didn't lower my prices that much.
Having said that, I still have lots of clothes and books left! Another bazaar sale might be in order ;-)
Oh, and before I forget - I did give away Mr. Tiny Bear! His new owner is a cheerful baby boy. His maid bought an army cap from me and I got to play with him. He was so adorable I couldn't resist and gave him the bear!

Moonfire Charms Bazaar Sale at *SCAPE, 23 February!
Hello! Moonfire Charms will be holding a bazaar sale at *SCAPE, this coming Saturday, 23 February at Level 4, Sky Terrace. Other than our always fashionable jewellery, I'm also selling off my pre-owned/pre-loved clothes and books!
As part of my New Year's Resolution, I decided to go minimalist this year and get rid of my pre-owned/pre-loved clothes (that, and my room was really running out of space!). Along the way, I also discovered a whole container full of books that I've accumulated since my primary school days! A good friend advised me to sell off my clothes instead of just throwing them away, which I normally do. I thought that was a great idea, thus the bazaar sale on Saturday!
Clothes will be going for $5-$15, and the books will be going from $0.50-$10. So if you're keen on grabbing a good deal, remember to drop by *SCAPE this Saturday, 2pm-8pm! See you there!

Suede Leather Charm Bracelet Crafting!
Recently, I bought some wraparound suede leather charm bracelets, thinking that they would make a great addition to my store collection. These wraparound charm bracelets were made popular by stars like Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Rachel Bilson.
However, when the charm bracelets arrived, the charms on them looked too cheap for my liking. Here's what the original bracelet looked like:
I decided to remake the charm bracelets the Moonfire Charms way - with gemstones included! With an ocean theme in mind, I picked out the following charms. The gemstones used were Turquoise, Sodalite, Snow Quartz and Angelite. The charms include a toggle and clasp - I tried wearing the bracelet but I found that the bracelet kept coming out unwrapped. With the toggle and clasp, the bracelet should be much more secure!

After about an hour or so, here's the final product! I must say, it does look good!
What's more, I got to recycle the original charms! I used the original charms to craft a charm necklace for a special little girl. She picked out the charms she liked, and I made the necklace and gifted it to her. She absolutely loved it!
The ocean themed charm bracelet will be on sale soon, keep a lookout for it! In the meantime, I'll be having fun crafting more charm bracelets! I already have more themes in mind ;-)

3 Takeaways from My First Bazaar: Learning the Good from the Bad
So, I held my first bazaar sale with Julia (from SilverAngels Accessories) yesterday.
Honestly, our sales sucked - big time! However, I did gain some valuable experience and I had 3 main takeaways from this event. But let me start from the beginning.
Julia and I decided it would be a good idea for us to hold a collaborative jewellery sale. I've been selling online since 2008, but I've never ventured into doing retail. So we found this bazaar at Bedok Point (east of Singapore) and decided to try it out for a day.
On the day itself, I arrived early and did my setup first.
Not long after, Julia arrived and did her setup.
We were there for a full day, but only made a couple of sales =( However, I'm taking this as a learning experience. As the great Bram Stoker, Dracula, said, "We learn from failure, not from success!"
Here are my 3 takeaways from my first bazaar sale:
1) People in Singapore like to be left alone to browse.
Yup, they do not like any sort of interaction when browsing! It was actually kind of funny - whenever we tried to approach someone who was browsing through our items, even if it was just to say a simple "Hello", they would walk away immediately! Even when we were sitting behind the booth, people would tend to only look at our items from a distance. We had to resort to standing away from our booth in order to get people to feel more at ease with browsing our items (sure enough, they did!) and approach them only when they seemed more interested. Even then, we scared off quite a few people once we approached!
2) One girl's taste is another girl's turnoff.
I guess I knew this one already, but the bazaar was a good reminder that not everyone's taste is similar to mine. I go for the unique, quirky designs that stand out from the crowd. However, I've been expanding my jewellery range, and I did have some cutesy designs in my display. Sure enough, it was the cutesy stuff that sold. The bazaar is a good reminder that I cater to a niche crowd!
3) Look beyond the sales.
While sales were bad, I did manage to introduce my items to a number of people and give out namecards, telling them to visit my online store. Surprisingly, people were especially captivated by my sterling silver gemstone jewellery and wanted to find out more! I was definitely more than happy to talk to them, it's nice talking to people who are interested in gemstones too. I also made some new friends with our retail neighbours, and got to find out more about the flea market/bazaar community. So while sales were bad, I'm learning the good from the bad =)
